MY STORY — vamps.txt ===================================== It started with a broken computer. Not mine — my neighbor's. I was maybe 12, poking around inside the case because a fan was making a noise. Pulled it out, cleaned it, put it back. It worked. I was hooked. Then came the questions: why does this work? what's actually happening inside? what's a GPU even doing? Chapter 1: The GPU Rabbit Hole I bought my first GPU to game. Obviously. But then I started reading about shader pipelines. Then CUDA. Then I was writing compute kernels for fun at 2am. Normal stuff. That LED me to systems programming. Rust. C. Assembly. The lower you go, the more you understand. And the more you understand, the more you realize how *deep* it goes. Chapter 2: The Web, Actually At some point I needed to show people the things I built. So I learned web dev. HTML → CSS → JS → TypeScript → React → "okay what if we did this at the edge?" → Cloudflare Workers → I'm now obsessed with edge compute. Workers are basically: write code, it runs in 300 cities at once, cold start is <1ms. This is peak. This is where I want to build everything. Chapter 3: vamps.dev Started as a portfolio. Became a playground. Now it's a home base. I build tools, ship experiments, write about what I learn, and occasionally troll visitors with fake Windows XP VMs. (you're literally inside one right now) What's Next - More GPU compute experiments - Edge AI — inference at the CDN layer - Open source tools I keep building internally - Maybe sleep.
